Internet Explorer also provides forward-looking support for CSS 3.0. CSS 2.1 is a simple mechanism for adding style, such as fonts, colors, spacing, and positioning, to web documents. The component in Internet Explorer that renders pages from markup has been modified to more closely support industry standards for page layout, including compliance with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) 2.1. Internet Explorer 8 also includes the SmartScreen filter, which replaces the standard phishing filter in Internet Explorer 7.
To prevent reflection, the cross-site scripting filter identifies potentially malicious script embedded in web addresses and prevents it from executing. A reflection attack occurs when a website adds scripting elements to otherwise legitimate requests to another website, often in an attempt to gain access to privileged information. One of these features, called the cross-site scripting filter, is designed to limit reflection attacks. Many safety features are built into Internet Explorer 8. With text selected, you can copy by pressing Ctrl-C and paste by pressing Ctrl-V. To select text, move the cursor to the beginning of the text, hold down the Shift key and move the arrow keys until the text you want is selected. With Caret Browsing on, you can move up, down, left and right on the Web page by pressing and holding the arrow keys. This makes it easier to select, copy, and paste text to another document without having to use a mouse. Explorer 8, you can use the navigation keys on your keyboard, including Home, End, Page Up, Page Down, and the arrow keys, to select text and move around within a web page.
